Top Five Holy Grail Beauty

22nd April 2018

I’m fortunate enough to have access to a lot of different make-up when deciding what to slap on my face. Problem is, like most people, I usually find myself picking up the same, fail-safe beauty products. This week, I’m telling you all about my favourites.

Nars Sheer Glow

I feel like we all like to flirt with different foundations now and again but always find our way back to ‘the one.’ Which in my case, happens to be the one and only, Nars Sheer Glow. Admittedly, I couldn’t help but be a bit annoyed that you had to buy the pump separately but I’ll overlook that because the foundation is just so damn good that I’ll be repurchasing it regardless so at least I only had to buy the pump once! It’s medium coverage which is exactly what I want to be wearing day to day and doesn’t feel cakey either. Essentially, I want to put my foundation on in the morning and forget it’s there. The formula is fairly runny but it blends beautifully to create a natural, glowy base.

Too Faced ‘Natural Eyes’ palette

Most definitely my most used eyeshadow palette and trust me – I have a lot! You get nine different matte and shimmer shadows, split into three ‘looks’ which I actually find really helpful, especially because I’m not the best at pairing shadows. There’s everything you need to create a really beautiful day/work look and it’s easy to create a smokey eye too. As you can see from the photos, I’ve made a good dent in the classic shadows and pick this palette weekly to wear for work.  The pigmentation of the shadows is brilliant and I’m always impressed to see it fixed in place when I get home after a long day.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in ‘Trooper’

The newest addition to my make-up bag has become my saviour in finally perfecting eyeliner. I have tried so many different products promising to make eyeliner a doddle and I’ve always ended up frustrated and looking ridiculous. Enter, Kat Von D’s Tattoo Eye Liner with it’s a super-fine tip and strong black pigment to create the perfectly framed eyes I have lusted after for so long. It glides across my eyelid beautifully and it’s so easy to work with if you don’t get what you’re after immediately. It doesn’t budge or smudge all day and I can’t see myself using anything else.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

I personally don’t see the point in spending money on a high-end when the drug store options are so bloody good. My pick of the bunch is none other than Lash Sensational from Maybelline which I know you will have all heard of! The brush has six different lengths of bristles so it will catch all of your lashes – even the ones you don’t even notice half the time. This product gives me everything I look for in a mascara: lift, length and volume without looking spidery or clumping together. Why use anything else for £8.99?

MAC Satin lipstick in Brave

I’m ashamed to admit that despite having a lot of different lip products, it’s usually the same two or three colours rattling around in my handbag. My favourite of which is most definitely MAC’s Brave. A satin finish, the pink-mauve shade is the perfect everyday shade which I can confidently wear with pretty much any outfit. No, it doesn’t last through eating and drinking (what lipstick does!?) but it’s that pretty that I don’t really care.
