Around this time of month, there are an influx of weddings and I’m not certainly not complaining! I’ve already been to one beautiful wedding and there is something so lovely attending such a happy event. From the to the yummy food, tiny, well thought out details and catching up with people I haven’t seen for a while – I love it all!
I know that it can be difficult deciding on what to wear while the day might not be about you, that doesn’t mean you can’t look nice! So I’ve put together some suggestions to help you prepare! While readers from other countries might not be able to locate some of my suggestions, it’ll certainly give you some ideas of what to look for!
Starting with base, is there a more brightening high street foundation than Rimmel’s Wake Me Up? I’ve always found this foundation instantly illuminates the skin and leaves you with a radiant glow, just right for a wedding! I love this for a morning where I’m not quite looking as awake as I should and it works beautifully into the skin.
A great blush to compliment your flawless skin is the I Heart Make Up Blush Hearts in Blushing Hearts. This triple baked blush is ever so lovely swirled together with your brush and adds a natural flush of colour. Often compared to Too Faced’s Sweetheart Blush but costing like four times less, this is a real bargain and while the packaging isn’t exactly sturdy, it looks so pretty on your dressing table!
So we’re well into Spring and we’re slowly venturing into Summer. In my opinion, it’s really nice to match your eye make up to the seasons and this is actually something I really enjoy doing. I’ve gone for something quite light and feminine here for the eyes. Maybelline colour tattoo in pink gold is simply gorgeous, a creaseproof, build-able cream shadow that will last right through to when you’re climbing into the taxi a little worse for wear!
Or perhaps you’re feeling adventurous in which case you can’t go wrong with a Naked palette! For this occasion, I’d specifically go for the Naked 3 palette full of pearly, rosy shades. I’m thinking a romantic eye look with Limit from lid to brow. Pat Buzz onto the lid and then work Liar through the crease. Finish your eyes with a flick of mascara for fluttery lashes, you might want to choose waterproof if you’re likely to get emotional!
I wear lipstick most days of the week so I have a plentiful supply and for a wedding look you’ll find me diving straight for the pinks. While I don’t want something too bold, I want it to be noticeable I’m wearing something. The two I’ve chosen for you today is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in So Hap Pink and a MAC lipstick in . Rouge edition velvet is obviously a lot glossier than _____ but both work equally as well for a special event.
Ideally, I’d always love to have a french manicure for a wedding but this isn’t always possible or affordable. And well if you’ve got little stubs like me, unless you get false nails it doesn’t look quite as nice. These Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Paints are absolutely perfect for this time of year, my favourite being Surfboard, a pearly pink which offers just the right amount of glossy colour without being too overpowering. If you want something a bit more neutral, why not give Sunkissed a whirl? The blend of Coconut Water and Coconut Oil has been used in this polish to hydrate and nourish nails.
Clothing is the most fun to play with at a wedding. There are so many options and quite often stores will cater and categorise their products into a wedding ‘theme’ which can help make life even easier when finding something to wear. I find that weddings give you the chance to dress up a bit and even wear all white! I’ve put together a few options that you might be interested in looking into! I will admit here, all of my choices are from New Look but I imagine there are lots of similar items in other shops wherever you may be!
I actually own quite a lot from the first compilation. I felt like the white midi skirt would be a great staple for Spring and Summer and can be both dressed up and down in so many ways. You just want to swish it around you like some sort of Disney Princess, it’s utterly gorgeous! For a wedding I would tuck the pale blue cami in and elongate legs with some heels. A fascinator would be perfect here, regardless of what hairstyle you decide to go for.
A dress is such ann easy option for a wedding and there are so many choices! You’ll notice I’ve picked a lot of pastel choices here but I feel like Spring and Summer is the best time for it! The mint green lace skater dress is such a pretty, delicate choice and perfect if you might feel a bit body conscious or don’t want to wear something skin tight. If you aren’t and are happy to bare a bit of skin, this bandeau bodycon dress would look fabulous with some nude heels and big, hollywood curls. I love the detail on this Coral crotchet dress and I can just imagine how incredible it would look with a tan!
So theres my low down on everything weddings! Hopefully I’ve given you a little bit of wedding inspiration. Have you got any weddings to go to this year? Do you know what your going to wear? Let me know in the comments!
