I’ve got a real mixture of favourites for you this month: skincare, entertainment, homeware and more! Welcome to my October Favourites!

So this is a bit of a cult product amongst Bloggers and well, you just can’t help yourself when everyone is raving about something can you? Firstly, I actually found this tonic really difficult to get hold of! But I eventually managed to get a bottle and have so far been testing it for about the one month now. Aesthetically, I know a lot of people don’t like the packaging but I actually do! It stands out in my bathroom cabinet and the orange colour of the tonic isn’t something I’ve seen before. Glow Tonic contains glycolic acid which helps get rid of dead skin cells, acting as an exfoliate which results in healthier looking skin. It also promises to sooth and hydrate your skin as well as reducing redness. I have been sweeping this on a cotton pad across my face every evening before bed and I have most definitely noticed a difference. I do struggle with redness and since using this, it seems to be getting less noticeable every time, I’ll be interested to see if it does rid it completely. I’m really enjoying using this and think it’s going to become a permanent fixture in my skincare routine!

I’ve always only ever used brushes to do my make up. Apart from way back when I used to use my fingers, I’d never really considered using anything else as I was perfectly happy with the results I got from my brushes. But one day I was perusing amazon and one of the suggested products was the Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques. Now I’m a huge RT fan and 90% of my brushes are by Sam and Nic so I was very intrigued by this and quickly added it to my basket. I was SO pleased when I finally got round to testing it out! It blended my make up flawlessly and the design is really impressive and multi-functional, considering all aspects of blending in make up. There’s the precise tip to get into the smaller places like around your nose and to cover any imperfections, the flat edge is help with contouring and the rounded sides for the larger areas you want to cover. I never thought I’d move away from brushes, but this is definitely something I’m keen to keep coming back to!

Now if you didn’t already know, which you should from this post, I’m a big Disney fan. I have fond memories of watching numerous Disney videos when I was younger. I was obsessed with the idea of being a Disney Princess and was always enchanted by the rich stories Walt Disney had to offer. These films are something I’m very keen to share with my children (when I have them!) so last year when I saw there were limited edition covers of all the classic Disney films on DVD and Blu-Ray, I knew I had to get some! Obviously I had all the films on video but I don’t have a video player any more and I doubt I will when I get round to having children, so it was exciting to start the collection from fresh. This was last year, but now the Buy One Get One Free offer on the Disney DVDs are back (try HMV, Amazon, Zavvi) and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple to add to our collection. I chose 101 Dalmatians and Tangled, so a classic and a newer one. I really do adore the appearance of these holographic limited edition covers and they look so lovely all lined up together. What’s your favourite Disney Film?

There was a time where I wouldn’t go a week without painting my nails. However now it’s become some what of a chore more than anything so for a couple of months now, my nails have been bare. But you know what? I miss it. There’s something really satisfying when you’re typing and have pretty fingers! Anyway, I was browsing Boots one day and came across the false nail aisle which I haven’t actually ever frequented! There was so much choice, I couldn’t resist picking up a packet to give them a go. The result? I loved them! I couldn’t help waggling my fingers around the house. They felt really sturdy and although at the beginning I was really cautious about anything I did, I didn’t need to be as the glue held them strong. The thing I really like about Elegant Touch is that there are 24 nails in a pack, which is great if one does happen to fall off and so you can find the right size nail for each of your fingers! I’m excited to try the different designs!

Now if you’re a follower of my blog, you’ll know I moved into my first home this month! So this means I’ve really gotten into homeware. It’s gotten to the point where I’m actually more likely to try and sniff out a Home Sense rather than a Primark when shopping, I’m obsessed. I’m excited to show you more in my home but for now I thought I’d pick out a few lovely bits.
First off is this sweet little blackboard which was a present from Matt’s parents. I love that it has little pegs so you can attach notes. It’s also wide enough so you have plenty of space to write little messages or reminders, the heart shape makes it a lot cuter than most ordinary blackboards! The next two were presents from my Dad. I’m a big fan of these quote signs and ‘Mi Casa Es Su Casa’ translates as ‘My house is your house’ which I think it very appropriate as I want everyone who comes over to feel welcome to our home and to be able to relax and enjoy themselves. These fox coasters are probably one of my favourite parts of our living room, they add a real bit of character and we’ve had lots of people commenting on them. They really liven up our coffee table and make something that is in theory quite boring a bit more interesting!

I’d love to know what you’ve been loving in October, let me know!
