TRAVEL: The Cheesecake Factory!

4th October 2015

There was no doubt in my mind where I wanted to visit food-wise whilst we were in Orlando. I’d been wanting to go to The Cheesecake Factory for ages and was pleased to find there was one close to where we were staying.

Now, the first time we dropped in was after a shopping session. We didn’t stand a chance. It was full of people waiting to have a seat and after a day on our feet, none of us felt up for joining the long queue, as tempting as it was! So we decided to head there the next day, arriving at 10am – which sounds crazy I know, but come on, cheesecake!

The place itself was really lovely and not what I expected, it was very elegant and ornate and the ceilings were beautifully detailed. The menu itself was full of choices and not even just cheesecake. There were plenty of options for breakfast and lunch but naturally we skipped straight to the cheesecake for which there was so much to choose from! So many flavours from fruit to caramel, peanut butter to vanilla, even lower calorie options. I genuinely struggled with what to choose and had to ask the waitress to come back on two different occasions!

I finally settled on the Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake which was ‘Creamy cheesecake layered with Oreo cookies, topped with Oreo cookie mousse and chocolate icing.’ I tell you, at no point did I regret my choice, secretly I think I picked the best! I instantly whipped my camera out because it was scrumptious to just look at, let alone eat! But when I did finally dig in my spoon, my mouth was filled with the most incredible taste sensation of soft and sweet, creamy and crunchy.

The rest of my family chose different options so we’d all be able to taste each others cakes so we all got a really good range of what the Cheesecake Factory had to offer. Matt went for the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, my sister chose the Dulce de Leche caramel Cheesecake and my Dad decided to go a bit different and picked the Chocolate Tower Truffle cake which was a huge mound of fudge cake with layers of truffle cream and chocolate mousse. Having tried each, I can confirm they were all incredible in their own way.

While I admit they are quite sickly to eat, they really are delicious and we all powered through as best we could though they are very generous sizes. My Dad was the only one to finish but you are able to take the rest home with you which is a bonus as you really do want to make the most of them and why not prolong the experience?

If you are near a Cheesecake Factory ever you must go. It’s a great experience and the dessert makes it so worth it, you won’t regret it, I promise! What cheesecake would you choose?
