Christmas with the Bodyshop!

Naturally, as a blogger it’s really nice being sent things. But what’s even better is when your sent things by a brand that use and enjoy anyway. This is why I was so thrilled when a package from The Body Shop landed on my doorstep. I’ve only been blogging for about six months, so stuff like that is very exciting for me! I use both the Bodyshop instablur primer and BB cream consistently and it’s always one of the first places I head to for gifts at Christmas time as there are usually lots of great offers and options people are bound to love!

It’s easy to forget that the Bodyshop does make up, but it has a great range and these two palettes from them are a great reason why you need to check them out. Each palette consists of a different ‘look’ as it were and suggestions on the back as where best to place each colour on your eyelid. I’ll be honest, eyeshadow blending and all that is something I’ve not exactly been great at, so these step by step instructions were really helpful to me. You’ve also got a large mirror which I’m always thankful for as it’s so handy to have it all in one little package. While it does come with a double ended brush, not everyone is a fan of an sponge applicator but the other end does have a angled brush which is a really lovely touch. The packaging is also very Christmassy in gold and silver and feels considerably sturdy given that it’s only cardboard although I know people won’t necessarily like this.

Swinging Silver* combines four metallic tones including a smoky deep blue, a coral peachy-pink, the most perfect silver and a dark grey. You might be slightly confused at the pink shade but it just works and I feel like paired with the silver it makes such a fresh daytime look.

Grooving Gold* has to be my favourite of the two. It consists of warm and copper colours that for me are the epitome of Christmas and is definitely the one I will be reaching for on the 25th! This would also be most perfect palette for parties, especially any Work events you might have or especially New Years Eve. You’ve obviously got a yellow toned gold, plum purple, a stunning rose gold and a mauve-brown.This creates a warm, very glam look and the colour selection really compliments each other

The shades of both palettes are of brilliant quality and extremely pigmented. With glitter, you’d expect some fall out but I didn’t find any experience any myself which is such a bonus. They also blend together really nicely which is so great for someone like me! I also feel like either palette could be used for a day or night look, perhaps using just a couple of the shades for a more subtle look or all four if you’d like to go all out. I love the size of these palettes, as they are so easy to pop into your handbag and with four brilliant shades it is more than worth the price tag of Β£16.00 each. I am so impressed with these Bodyshop palettes, I’m definitely recommending them to anyone who wants to create an easy, Winter look.

Firstly, one thing you shouldn’t do when you unscrew these Frosted Plum Bath Fizzers* -don’t lean right in and give it a big inhale like I did as I very nearly choked to death as the gorgeous smell is incredibly strong. The best way to enjoy these lovely little cubes of joy is certainly one at a time! Part of the frosted plum bath and body range, these fizzing bath treats are a real floral and fruit mix. You can definitely pick out the peony, magnolia and plum notes. As I’m sure you’ve guessed, you simply drop one or two cubes into the bath and sit back and let it do it’s magic!

The smell really envelopes you and comes with you even when you have climbed out, it also leaves your skin soft and silky. The packaging is great to just sit on a bathroom shelf and then pick at, as an when you want, secured in an airtight plastic container. You also have a great helping so should be able to get plenty of bathes out of the job.

Last of all is this adorable owl sponge! I love how chubby he is and I think he’ll look really sweet perched on the edge of my bath. I bet my niece would love him!
Something I also want to talk about is The Bodyshop’s partnership with WaterAid. When you buy a specially selected gift from the store, The Bodyshop will donate 4.4p which can provide a family in Ethiopia with safe water for a day. How incredible is that? Such a brilliant idea and I really applaud more shops to take lead from The Bodyshop. And it’s the most perfect reason you could ever need to go shopping I say! To find out more, take a look here.

I hope you’ve liked looking at my Bodyshop goodies, if you are searching for a gift for someone this Christmas or even something for yourself, the Bodyshop always have lots of greats offers so I would definitely check them out!
